Board of Directors
Steve Cooper has coached girls youth basketball for 30 years. During that time he has coached 12 different teams – all Panthers, taking them from the 3rd or 4th grade through the 8th grade, then watching them play in High School. For many of those players he has remained a mentor and friend always trying to get them to coach and be involved in the club's basketball programs. His vision of teaching about life, of coaching and mentoring his players, has inspired many of them, long after their “basketball days” to give back to the community. The club program is an extension of his “Panthers” basketball experiences.
Sarah Gredvig has played basketball since the 7th grade when she joined one of Steve’s Panthers teams. She was an outstanding basketball player and student. While in college Sarah first coached the Cleveland High School girls freshman team then moved up to coach the JV team for two years. Unfortunately for the Cleveland program, upon graduation from college, she was offered a full time job with the Oregon Clinic where she still works. Sarah has coached girls’ basketball for 12 years, and since graduation from high school, has also coached with Steve on several Panthers teams.
Sarah has a great relationship with our young players…and even though she is older, she still has a great outside shot.
Even with her family of 2 young girls, Leah and Tessa and husband Pete, she plays a significant role in the club's activities and direction.
